Alliant Techsystem's role in illegal uranium weapons trade

A spokesperson for Alliant Techsystems [ATK], the U.S.’s biggest [depleted uranium ammunitions maker, located in Edina] DU producer, has said that DU protesters at its Minnesota headquarters have no “impact on any decision this company makes.” Yet the company has removed all mention of DU from its websites. And after critics broadcast the startling images widely, the company also removed photos of its haphazard cleanup operations at a contaminated DU production site.

New Study Challenges IAEA Report on Chernobyl Consequences

11 Apr 2006 - Finds Death Toll Likely to be 30-60,000:

A new study being released today in Kiev, Ukraine directly challenges the findings of a widely-criticized International Atomic Energy Agency/World Health Organization report from last September that predicted 4,000 likely cancer deaths as a result of the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster....It is being held to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster and present arguments as to why the deadly nuclear option must not be considered as an answer to the world’s current energy supply problems.   See [ entire article ]
